Exteriors Done Right. Built From the Ground Up.
Trusted Exterior Contractors Serving Lansing and Mid-Michigan
At The Ground Up, LLC, we do things differently — and that difference starts with showing up. Owner Cory Rens didn’t start this company to sit behind a desk or subcontract every job. He’s hands-on, on-site, and fully involved in every project we take on. From the first walk-through and material planning to the final cleanup, Cory leads by example — ensuring your job is completed with precision, respect, and real accountability.
We’re proudly based in Lansing, Michigan, and serve homeowners and property owners throughout the Mid-Michigan region — including Holt, Mason, DeWitt, Charlotte, Eaton Rapids, Okemos, Grand Ledge, and nearby communities. Whether we’re building a custom deck in Haslett, framing a new pole barn in Williamston, or replacing a roof in St. Johns, we bring the same level of detail, work ethic, and commitment to every job.
The Ground Up is founded on values that matter to our clients: clear communication, dependable timelines, and craftsmanship that stands the test of time. We don’t cut corners — we use durable materials, follow proper building methods, and treat your home or property like it’s our own. And unlike many contractors who disappear after the quote, Cory is your point of contact throughout the entire process.
Most of our work comes from referrals, repeat clients, and word of mouth — and that’s something we’re proud of. Our clients know we do what we say, we show up when we say we will, and we don’t leave until the job is done right. Whether you’re planning a new outdoor living space, a functional storage building, or simply need a reliable local roofer, you can count on us for honest advice and reliable results.
If you’re in the Lansing or Mid-Michigan area and ready to bring your exterior project to life, we’d be happy to connect. Let’s build something strong — from the ground up.
